Oh, Beehive!

In case you are not an avid reader, I am part of a crafting group called 'The Westbourne Craft Collective'. The last couple of months we've been working on a huge collaberative project for the Parkstone Gardener's Spring Flower Show, and this [above] is the finished piece(s)!

My contributions were the catkins (upper left corner) framed bees and Bleeding Hearts (mid right). The background canvas features vintage postcard prints of the Parkstone area. I think it turned out super awesome, everyone's contributions were top-notch! Everyone in the group (and in life) has different talents and strong points and it's so fabtastic to see all the different styles and textures of craft all living together in harmony in one big hit, POW!

My sister made all the origami tulips and butterflys. The theme was based around spring flowers for bees because bees are dying out due to people/councils planting the wrong kinds of flowers! Naughty people/councils! To learn more about the radness of bees please go here or watch this movie (highly recommended).

We didn't win anything at all in the competition except an honorable mention, but our piece will be hung in Westbourne Library for all to enjoy!

P.S. please sign this petition to stop bee killing pesticides beeing used in the UK! Bzzz thanks bzzz
