This morning as I was in the library printing off some research I was surprised to be presented with a lovely medal in return for my entry into the  Postcards For Peace Competition . My first medal The medal is a reproduction of the original Peace Medal which was awarded by the mayor of Bournemouth in 1919 and which I referenced within my design so it's quite a nice memento to have: Original flavour The perks of the competition seem to keep growing; all the entrants will receive a medal and it seems that many of the designs will be made into postcards to be sold for charity! Still no news about the winner, but it's all very exciting anyway! In other news, I returned to an old favourite recently by making a couple of cross-stitched coasters as a gift for my penpal, Sally. I used to make these fairly often and sell them on my craft stall (until that seemed too easy!) so it was fun to think of new phrases for them: 'Treat Yo' Self' and 'Stay At Home...

It's been a while since my last post, right?! I'd love to say that I've been hard at work with some major super duper crafty magic up my sleeves but it would be one great white whale of a fib. I did manage to finish my final piece for Unit 2 of my Mixed Media Art course: Since I had no idea what I was doing I think I am happy with it. Today I decided to have a selfish crafting day and made a couple of things for myself! WOAH NOW Pom Pommes Frites A new cushion cover featuring Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham and pom pom trim! The Dr. Seuss fabric was from Abakhan and the pom pom trim was from Fabric Land . I also made this swede punk rock Toilet Boys oven glove: Glove of Love This was my first ever attempt at making an oven glove so I'm quite pumped with the result. I decided to use the Toilet Boys denim (from The Fabric Fairy ) as I have a lot of it and I figured it would be hard-wearing. The heat proof wadding, lining and everything else came from Fa...

Here's an update on nothing new! I've added all of the following to my online shops: Super Kawaii! Feed dem birds The Sally Bag Keen readers will recognise these from previous posts, hence the nothing newness. I am slow at adding things to my shops for some reason... Of course my favourite is still The Sally Bag , which is the son of Wilma Flintstone and Andy Warhol. My online shops are here and here (no, I still don't know why I have two). Not much else to report, I have a few exciting upcoming personal projects but don't want to say too much for fear of jinxing it all. This post was fuelled by Mickey Lee Lane, Ainsley Harriott's Cauliflower Cheese flavoured cup soup and vegetarian moussaka!
